Narsingh Yadav's Olympic participation in doubt after WADA appeals against his clean chit

Narsingh Yadav's chances of participating at the Rio Olympics are in trouble after the WADA has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the clean chit given to him by the NADA. Narsingh had flown to Rio last week after the clean chit from the national body.
Narsigh Yadav was a relieved man, last week when he was finally exonerated from the doping charges. The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) had accepted his plea that his food was spiked and that he was a victim of sabotage.
He was also assured that he would face no more tests or hindrances in his attempt to secure a medal for India in the 74kg category and had flown to Rio subsequently. But, WADA had soon announced that it would review his case. The World body also confirmed last Tuesday that they have requested the case files from NADA to review the case.
Following the inquiry, it is learnt the WADA has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against his exoneration.
Although the appeal was made on August 13, it appears the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) have been in the dark about the development.
It is also learnt that Chef de Mission of the Indian contingent at Rio, Rakesh Gupta, had been informed of the issue earlier but did not pass it on to the others, reported Hindustan Times.
“He had the notification with him but didn’t bother to inform anyone,” the newspaper's source said.
Narsingh, whose hopes had risen after NADA's exoneration, will once again be in the doldrums after the sudden blow from WADA.
