India's Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner Shuai Zhang have made it to the quarters of the Luxembourg Open, after a win over Tayisiya and Yana Morderger 6-2, 6-3. Now the Indo-Chinese pair will face Belgian pair of Greet Minnen and Alison Van Uytvanck and have a chance to seal a place in semis.

India's tennis star Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner Shuai Zhang have entered the women's doubles quarters at the Luxembourg Open. The number two seeds Sania and Zhang got the better of German twins Tayisiya Morderger and Yana Morderger 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16 on Wednesday, as per olympics.com.

Mirza is a six-time Grand Slam doubles winner, while Zhang had recently won her second Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, partnering Australia's Samantha Stosur. Now the Indo-Chinese pair will now take on the Belgian pair of Greet Minnen and Alison Van Uytvanck on Thursday. 

Sania had a poor US Open where she was ousted in the first rounds of the mixed doubles and women's doubles. Partnering Coco Vandeweghe, they lost to Raluca Olaru and Nadiia Kichenok 6-4,4-6, 3-6. In the mixed event, partnering Rajeev Ram, the duo were ousted by Max Purcell and Dayana Yastremska 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
