Bengaluru Bulls skipper Pawan Sehrawat, while talking about their last league stage game, has said that he made a few mistakes while raiding and even their defence wasn’t at its best. He also talked about the pressure in playoffs, their defence’s performance and Rohit Kumar’s comeback.

Bengaluru started strong as they were able to inflict an all-out four minutes into the match. This was possible because of Pawan Sehrawat’s four-point super raid three minutes into the game. They gained a seven-point lead early on but were unable to maintain it as UP Yoddha’s Surender Gill also executed a four-point super raid. So by the end of the first half, Bengaluru lead remained of only two points.

“I was tackled one too many times. They were excellent in defence today. I got tackled too many times against a defence of four and five. And whenever I was successful in scoring points, their raiders answered almost immediately. So, there were a few errors on my part and a few on our defences,” Pawan Sehrawat said in the post-match press conference.

Pawan completed his super ten in the first half itself but by the end of the match. He was only able to score 13 points. He got ousted seven times in 20 raid attempts which is the most for him in any match. Though despite that Bengaluru raiding unit scored one point less than the opponents.

“Not really. I feel as a team and as the lead raider, our offence has been comfortable. Sumit (Singh) scored a few points today, Banty got a couple or so. The defence, however, has been a concern for us,” Sehrawat said when asked if the leadership is affecting his performance.

Bengaluru’s defence was a major point of difference between the two teams, they could only score eight points whereas the Yoddha scored 13 points. Also, earlier Pawan used to have some support in the raiding department from their skipper Rohit Kumar but not that he is out because of an injury, the team is having trouble supporting him.

“There is 99 per cent chance that he will feature in the playoffs. In the event of injury in the next three days or so, he might have to sit out. But otherwise, he will be leading us in the eliminator,” Skipper commented on Rohit’s comeback.

“It’s the playoffs. There are no do-overs. So, both teams will undoubtedly feel the pressure and we will be ready,” Pawan when asked if the team would be in any pressure because of their loss against the Yoddhas.
