Rafael Crivellaro signs one year contract extension with Chennaiyin FC

Brazilian playmaker Rafael Crivellaro has extended his stay at Chennaiyin FC for the 2020-21 Indian Super League season. Meanwhile, last seasonsā€™ 'Emerging Player of the League' Sumit Rathi has penned a five-year contract with ATK that will keep him at the Kolkata-based club until 2025.

Even though Chennaiyin FC had a rough start to the Indian Super League (ISL) last season, they gained momentum as the season progressedĀ aided by the Owen Coyle factor. Dramatically, they made it to the final of the ISL, but lost to ATK, but even then it was a season worth remembering. Rafael Crivellaro was roped in by the two-time champions prior to the start of the season and played an instrumental role in their campaign which has seen the club announce that theyā€™ve extended the Brazilianā€™s contract by a year.

"I always wanted to continue my journey hereafter the incredible season we had last time out. It is a privilege to play for these fans, and hopefully, we can deliver more success to them soon enough. We must be positive and optimistic and work hard to achieve our target,ā€ said Rafael Crivellaro, after penning down the contract.

Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Baganā€™s Sumit Rathi has signed a five-year contract with the club that will keep him with the three-time champions until 2025. The youngster was named the ā€˜Emerging Player of the Leagueā€™, having made 14 appearances for the side.

"I am extremely grateful to the club for their trust in me and it gives me immense pride to represent ATK Mohun Bagan FC. I am very excited and honoured to don the green and maroon jersey next season," said Sumit Rathi, as reported by The Times of India.
