Kuldeep Yadav has performed brilliantly in the IPL 2022 for his franchise Delhi Capitals after returning from a knee injury and has impressed all. Team India head coach Rahul Dravid praised the young left-arm spinner who is a part of the series against South Africa and will be hoping to do well.

Kuldeep Yadav got injured during the IPL 2021 season when he was with Kolkata Knight Riders and had to undergo knee surgery. The young left-arm spinner returned to playing competitive cricket and performed brilliantly during the IPL 2022. Kuldeep took 21 wickets during the season for his new franchise Delhi Capitals and earned rich praise from ex-cricketers and fans for his brilliant performances.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid also praised the young spinner and talked about the reason behind Kuldeep Yadav's inclusion in the side. “It’s nice to have Kuldeep back in the mix. He had that (knee) injury unfortunately in the last IPL (which needed surgery), and in fact, even without playing any first-class cricket, we got him back into the mix because we see the quality" Rahul Dravid said during a press conference.

“He has been a terrific performer. We know that the kind of quality he brings, people find very difficult to read. He is a wicket-taker. So there are a lot of positives of having Kuldeep in the group," he added.

Rahul Dravid said Kuldeep Yadav is an "exciting option" to have in the team.

“He is one of the really exciting options that we have, along with Ravi Bishnoi who has come and done really well. Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) has really shown his class over the last six months for us and for his IPL team, the last two IPL's that he has played. Axar (Patel) is again an allrounder."

“So there a lot of options and sometimes you have to balance out those options as well. But very nice to see Kuldeep back again and bowling. And we know that at times he is someone who can turn the game around with wickets in those middle overs," Rahul Dravid said.
