ICC World Cup 2019 | West Indies' predicted XI for the encounter against Bangladesh

In a matchup between two teams who have an outside chance of making it into the semifinals of the World Cup, West Indies will definitely started as the favorites. However, they will need to be at the top of their game with Bangladesh already giving a few teams a run for their money in this WC.
Chris Gayle : The lowest score that Gayle has managed in the World Cup so far has been 21. The problem is that the highest is just 50. He has been getting the starts that you need at the top of the order but he hasn’t been able to convert them into big ones. With a young troika following him, he needs to ease the pressure on them.
Evin Lewis : With scores of 1 and 2, he has hardly made any impact in this side. He really needs to show a little more patience going forward before he decides to go for big shots. We know what he is capable of but he needs to deliver for West Indies’ sake.
Shai Hope : After a well constructed 68 against Australia, he seems to have slowed down a bit. He looked surprisingly sluggish, for a man who has averaged above 60 this year, against England and West Indies will hope that it was a one off game.Â
Nicholas Pooran : For someone who had played just three innings of ODI cricket before the England game, the 63 was absolutely priceless. It was a shame he got no support from anyone else which eventually resulted in him throwing away his wicket.
Shimron Hetmyer : Apart from Pooran, he was the only man who put in an effort of playing out the entire innings. He looked good value for his 39 before Joe “Golden arm” Root came into the attack to dismantle the entire lineup. He genuinely could be the next big thing in West Indian cricket but he needs some time.
Jason Holder : Another batsman that Root, who was just having a field day, snagged up. He wasn’t very effective with the ball, but none of the pacers in the West Indies side was.Â
Andre Russell : For the amount of talent he possesses, some of his decision making is just horrendous. If you have already scored 21 off 17 and there is still over 13 overs left, why in God’s name would you go for another big hit. Injury might be the excuse that would be offered but at this level, it is just not good enough.
Carlos Brathwaite : After Pooran fell, he tried to steady the innings and get the team to a respectable score but could not deal with the pressure. On the bowling front, he is just not someone who can be depended on at this level. Luckily for him, there isn’t really a hard hitting all rounder on the bench which allows him to keep his spot.Â
Sheldon Cottrell : Well, he was due a bad day and it came against England. However, more than his bowling performance, 0/17 in three overs, it was his injury that would have hurt the most. But it looks like he will be ready for the Bangladesh game as he was bowling in the practice sessions.
Oshane Thomas : Not a great day at the office for him. Root and Bairstow took him to the cleaners and everything he tried to do failed on the day. Against Bangladesh though, West Indies would want him to turn up if they want to stay alive in the race for a top four spot.Â
Shannon Gabriel :Â Brought in for his first game at the World Cup, he was the most successful bowler in terms of wickets. But his economy, which was the highest on the day, needs some work if he wants to continue playing in the biggest event in the sport.
